Welcome to the Beginner’s Guide to the Bible and Christianity
For anyone starting from zero — no background needed.
If you are new to the Bible, Christianity, or even religion in general, this page is for you.
Our goal here is to make everything simple, clear, and easy to understand, just like learning any new subject for the first time.
You do not need to know any special words.
You do not need to know any stories or history.
You can begin right here.
1. What Is the Bible? (Very Simple Explanation)
The Bible is a collection of books that Christians believe come from God.
It teaches people how to live, how to treat others, and how to grow close to Him.
It has two parts:
Old Covenant – creation, history, God’s promises
New Covenant – Jesus, His teachings, and the early Church
Think of the Bible like a very old guidebook that still helps people today.
2. Who Is Jesus?
Jesus is the center of Christianity next to God.
Christians believe:
Jesus was sent by God
He taught truth and love
He healed people and helped the hurting
He died and rose again
He brings people back to God, meaning he helps them get right with God.
You don’t need to understand everything yet.
Beginners start with simple steps.
3. What Does “Christianity” Mean?
Christianity is the way of following Jesus’ teachings:
Love God
Love people
Live with kindness
Do what is right
Grow closer to God
Christians meet together to learn, pray, worship, and help each other.
These gatherings are popularly called churches.
4. The Six Big Areas (Our “Pillars”)
We teach everything through six simple categories:
1. Scripture (The Bible)
Learning what the Bible says.
2. Monotheism (One God)
Understanding that Christians believe in one God, not many gods.
3. Divinity (What God Is Like)
Learning about God’s nature, including in Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, in people.
4. Assembly (The Church Family)
How Christians gather, worship, and support one another.
5. Prophecy (God’s Promises and Plans)
What the Bible says about the future, sometimes long before it occured and long before things will occur.
6. Outreach (Sharing God’s Love)
How Christians care for and help people everywhere.

This part is about living it out, not just knowing it.
Just like learning to swim—you don’t only read about it, you practice it.
Why These Two Parts Matter
Learning both knowledge and practice helps you become:
wiser,
stronger,
more peaceful,
and more connected to God, among many other benefits.
You don’t have to be perfect according to human opinions.
We grow one small step at a time.
5. What Does God Want From Us? (Simple Version)
God wants us to:
Love Him
Love others
Do what is right
Turn away from harmful things
Learn the truth
Forgive others
Prepare for the future
Prosper spiritually and physically
Walk in peace and kindness
Even if these ideas feel new, you are starting exactly where you should be.
6. The Big Story of the Bible (Easy Summary)
1. God created everything and loves people.
2. People often chose wrong paths.
3. God sent Jesus to bring people back to Him.
4. Jesus teaches us how to live.
5. The Church is one worldwide family.
6. One day God will make everything new again.
That’s the whole Bible in one simple outline.
